I discovered felt making many years ago and include it into school workshops wherever possible.

FeltMaking-8

Preparing the wool tops.

FeltMaking-5

Creating coloured layers of wool.

FeltMaking-3

The messy bit….

FeltMaking-2

A finished piece of handmade felt! The children are always fascinated by the results.

FeltMaking-4

I made felt roses out of the pieces of felt that the children made to create this piece for a school entrance.

FeltMaking-7

‘We love our School because…’ The children tie dyed some fabric which was then cut into leaves. The children then wrote some lovely reasons as to why they loved their school.

FeltMaking-6

Felt roses under construction.

FeltMaking-1

This piece was commissioned as a surprise for a Head Teachers office, a constant reminder of what these children love about their school.

I made this ‘Welcome to our Nursery’ piece with children aged two and three!  This meant a completely different way of working, throwing all my ‘plans’ out of the window and just going with the flow!
