I have 20 years experience as an Art Lecturer in FE and for the past 5 years I have also worked as an artist in residence in primary education. In September 2014 I took the plunge and became a full time artist in residence.

Commissions are varied and projects may last anywhere from between one day to one or two weeks. Typically I would come into your school and work with small groups of children throughout the day, working around a given theme. Activities might include drawing, painting, printing, collage and feltmaking. 

Once the activities have been completed in school I take all the lovely work away and stitch it together to create a unique permanent piece of artwork. The finished pieces vary in size, but are typically 6ft x 4ft.  For the majority of the examples shown, all the artwork was completed in one day, it then takes about a week for each piece to be finished entirely depending on the size.
